The Dog at Peover

Welcome to The Dog at Peover

The Dog’s fascinating past is steeped in the history of the quaint village of Over Peover. A typical heart of the village inn, The Dog was born in 1860 when Baronet Thomas Westenhall decided to unite the grocer’s shop, a shoemaker’s and a small farmstead, and create a public house for villagers. Many decades later its local reputation for providing quality food and ale continues.

We serve an honest pint, with a range of cask ales to choose from and enjoy in front of a roaring fire in the cooler months. Our mouth-watering menu offers seasonal dishes and regular classics prepared fresh from our kitchen. We also offer a discerning selection of fine wines and champagnes from around the world.

Our comfortable overnight accommodation makes The Dog an ideal place to relax and unwind whilst taking in some of the local landmarks and pretty Cheshire countryside.

Open 7 days a week, 11.30am until 11.00pm, guests are welcome to pop in for a quality pint of real local ale, or favourite tipple with a scotch egg or two and a pint pot of chef’s finest crackling on the side. A delicious menu has been created to please all tastes – whether it’s a traditional family Sunday roast or a celebration dinner with friends, there is something for everyone.

Please note, our food is served Monday – Saturday 12.00pm until 9.00pm and Sunday’s 12.00pm until 8.00pm.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.
